After breaking ground last year, the new school wing is completed in Bulingtar, Nepal. This remote area of the Himalayan foothills and was badly damaged in the earthquake of 2015 and has received very little aid to rebuild the community.

They rebuilt most of the houses themselves, but the school was badly damaged and unsafe to continue lessons. Teachers began to move away and the children had to walk for hours to the next villages to attend school or not go at all.

This project was supported by the local government as an investment to develop the area, as it sits between major cities and will be positioned to encourage trade routes and bring more economy to the area.

Since opening day in October, the classrooms have been full and teachers have come back to work fair jobs. We look forward to seeing the development of Bulingtar and it’s students over the next few years.
