Mae Wah Khee, Karen State, Burma.
With the assistance of our client funding the Mae Wah Khee village, in Karen State, Burma, recently completed the construction of their new primary school. The new school will provide access to education for over 120 underprivileged children with little or no prior access to schooling in a very impoverished area of the state.
This school will also serve as a place for children and their families to receive healthcare and act as a community hub for the sharing of agricultural knowledge and a meeting space for the community at large. The school has both Burmese and English language curriculum along with Karen language, sports, gardening and arts and crafts. There are 9 teachers in Mae Wah Khee village. There are 2 teachers for the nursery and 7 teachers for the primary school.
