PROJECT TIMELINE
DECEMBER 2018:
December saw the groundbreaking ceremony take place and the meeting of the entire community to kick off our new project. The day was a big success and the community where delighted with the support we were offering.
In turn we were very pleased with the level of commitment from the community to ensure this project is complected on time and within budget. The final layout and earth work excavation was carried out and the foundations laying began.
JANUARY 2019:
January saw foundation laying completed, the finalisation of skilled labourer selection and the beginning of construction of plinth and column structure.
FEBRUARY 2019:
Continuation of plinth and column construction. Community meetings detailing visions for the school going forward and community engagement of children’s education and health
MARCH 2019:
2nd instalment of received required from both donors.
Completion of plinth and column and the beginning of brick masonry wall construction.
April 2019:
May 2019:
The RCC work on the ground level is almost complete with the exception of the area below the staircase. The lintel on the building is at two levels (below and above the window) and goes throughout the structure and is properly reinforced. The missionary work for the walls on the ground level is complete.
All the 18 columns (pillars) have been constructed as per the measurements specified on the building plan. The columns have been constructed to the level of the second lintel. The staircase has been built to
the first landing and the preparations are underway to complete it to lead it to the first floor plinth level. A wooden frame structure has been setup with the support of bamboos for providing an RCC roofing to the ground floor.
