After a great inaugural year the 2nd year of our Girls Empowerment Program in rural Nepal is of to an amazing start. 17 new underprivileged girls from often suppressed and difficult backgrounds have joined the team.
It's fantastic to see last year's girls guiding and advising the new recruits on everything from self defence to menstrual hygiene.
Speaking up at home, in the village or to any men at all is frequently frowned upon for girls and unusual in rural areas, so to see them speaking at the end of this video as well as to their community and national media shows such courage and progress.
