Objectives:
To eliminate all forms of violence and discrimination against girls in the public and private spheres, including trafficking and sexual and other types of exploitation.
To end all harmful practices towards girls (child, early and forced marriage, taboos on regular menstruation).
To empower and promote the social, economic and political inclusion of all, irrespective of age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion.
To ensure equal opportunity to girls/adolescent laws, policies and practices.
SECOND QUARTER KEY ACTIVITIES
Leadership Training on Self Defence.
The training was helpful in increasing the level of confidence to speak up in any kind of violence and harassment situation. The girls gained knowledge about self-defence techniques and reacting to uncomfortable situations. It was really helpful to know their interest vs. skills and goal orientation. It became helpful for clarification of the role of adolescents to promote and support the creation of a child and girl friendly municipality.
Training participants made action plans and developed key tools to implement in their respective areas. The girls became stronger both physically and mentally during the program as it works on developing their self-confidence and self-knowledge to speak and to stand up for themselves and what is right in the ever growing issues of harassment. Most importantly it gives them the ability to act promptly for self-defence.
The participants were taught about issues/mechanism of harassment and learned the physical or verbal techniques to defend in situations of harassment.

Orientation Program on Protection from Cyber-bullying and Abuse against the Adolescent
We conducted an “Orientation Program on protection from Cyber-bullying and abuse against the adolescent” on August 24, 2019 at Devchuli Municipality. The objective of program was to create awareness about the proper use of the internet and to reduce the adolescent from abuse and being cyber-bullied. In total there were 71 participants in the program.
REACH OUT PROGRAMS, DEVCHULI, NEPAL
In the program, Rita Rai, peer educator of the GEP Program became the chairperson of the program. Ms. Parbata Tiwari, Deputy Mayor of Devchuli was the chief guest of the program. Similarly, Khimananda Bhusal and Narayan Paudel (Child Friendly/ Social Worker of Devchuli Municipality), Rajendra Adhikari (Inspector of District Police Office), Krishna Hari Sapkota (Information Technology Officer of Devchuli Municipality) were presented in the program as special guests. A welcome speech was given by Rejina Gharti Magar, peer educator of Girls Empowerment Program. She welcomed each and every one present in the hall by giving an introduction about the orientation program.
At the end the peer educators of Girls Empowerment program also committed that they will be passing the knowledge gained in the orientation program onto their schools and communities.

Published hand brochure on “Cyber Bullying” for providing awareness on the safety and prevention from cyber-crime and associated social issues.
Sports Material Distribution Program
The program was organised to distribute football kits for girl players of Barchuli Secondary School who are selected for participation in the provincial level football competition at Gandaki Province, Pokhara. The 22 sets of kit were distributed to the players and the coach in the presence of Deputy Mayor of Devchuli municipality, ward president, CFLG counsellor, board members of PEER Girls of GEP. The girl team of Barchuli S.S. had played the provincial level and selected for national level representing Gandaki Province. The captain of the team is one of our peer educator Rejina Gharti Magar. Young women playing football in rural areas is almost unheard of and this is a huge step forward.
Girls Talk Show
After having a series of meetings with media and other stakeholders on TV talk show SAKCHIN CHHORI the 20 guests and girls for each episode were chosen. The show is going to be aired from first week of October 2019. To date we have accomplished the shooting of 6 episodes.
Regular Airing of PSAs and Program
We are also partnering with local media, Kawasoti F.M. and Happy FM. The radio station airs two episodes per month each, covering the issues of girls and promoting girls empowerment, and the activities performing under the GEP. The program focuses on ending child and early marriage, menstrual hygiene, use of homemade sanitation and its need, empowering girls through awareness, leadership and capacity building training, health, and creating girls friendly Devchuli municipality.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
Preparation and participation of peer educators in the Provincial Level Child Congress which is conducted by SOS Pokhara, and Consortium Nepal on September 9 and 10 at Pokhara. To represent the District level Child Network, Sapana Paudel (Peer Educator) and Tol Bahadur Rana Magar (residence of Bulingtar Rural Municipality) are selected for the participation in the program.
On the occasion of National Children Day on September 12, 2019, the peer educators had conducted the awareness program at school and community on the role and responsibility of children, conducted rally and interaction program.
Devchuli municipality ward 1 had conducted a review program marking the 1 st anniversary of declaration of CFLG on Sept 12, 2019. Where, Mr. Tilottam Paudel became the speaker of the program and Mrs. Sabita Pangeni, Program Officer also participated in the program.
On the occasion of National Children Day 2076, Mr. Dipak Sharma, District Program Coordinator along with the Mr. Tol Bahadur Rana, Child Club member from Nawalpur participated in the national level children program conducted by Ministry of Women Children and Senior Citizenship. A highlight of the National Children’s Day Celebration was a separate session discussion with Hon. President of Nepal.
On 24 September, 2019, meeting with UNICEF for the celebration of International Girls Child Day. Also, there was discussion on Sakchhin Chhori TV Talk show program.
On 27 September, 2019, the discussion meeting was conducted by National Coalition for Girls Rights with 12 participants representing different organisations working with girls across Nepal. There was discussion on current updates, issues, and Human Rights Resolution for elimination of all forms of discrimination against women and girls.
