AUGUST OVERVIEW

August saw the programme take big steps forward with the mobilisation of the girls in their respective communities. Under professional supervision the girls have been taking what they have learned into other schools and districts to act as ambassadors for the programme. The results have been very positive and the girls are continually growing in confidence.

Below we have a video of some of the girls on our programme who are now sharing their knowledge as peer to peer educators. 8 months ago none of these girls would have dreamed of speaking up in class, to their communities and certainly not to a camera about these sensitive issues. This video is testament to their bravery and hard work.

Monitoring of Girl Friendly Toilets

The construction and maintenance of girl friendly toilets in all ten selected schools are being regularly monitored. These buildings are vital for the girls in order to have privacy and to give them confidence to come to school and have access to support and advice whilst advancing into their adolescent years. Two schools; Kalika Secondary School and Shree Sakala Devi Secondary School have completed the construction.
