ACCURO PROJECT SUGGESTIONS FOR 2025
- Casita Huaran - Peru
- Chimbuk Para School - Bangladesh
- Hope school - Myanmar-Thailand
Casita Huaran, Peru
Childrens’ dormitory
Location: Huaran, Sacred Valley, Peru
Funding Required: EUR 28000
The current building
Access to education for Quechua children living in the high altitude areas of the Sacred Valley is very difficult and many have to walk long distances to school and experience stigma that comes from being from remote and often perceived lower caste families.
There is no school in the area of Cancha Cancha and the only safe way for the kids to be educated is to provide safe weekly accommodation near a school in the valley below.
The Casita Huaran project assists with caring for children during the week in Huaran where there is an established school that they are able to attend.
It is however quite limited in the number of children than can stay there, the current project that looks after just a few orphans , but is looking to provide space for at least 35 kids who are on a waiting list.
The centre also serves to protect and encourage the indigenous children’s cultures and respect for the land, its a truly beautiful place that will benefit hundreds of local children for decades to come.
The existing 2 floors have been partially constructed and the aim is to build the dormitory on the 3rd floor and complete the project. The land belongs to the the Mayor of the village and their family has been committed to helping the local community and the children of the surrounding villages for decades.
Building Trust International will be the architects for this project, with whom we have worked on a great deal of projects.
Chimbuk Para School, Bangladesh.
Funding required: EUR 36000
Project description: Support new school classrooms utilising lime stabilised soil in the construction. The school supports 63 students and has 2 full time teachers.
The idea would be to use the community school building as a way to teach a locally viable sustainable
construction technique that can be used to improve the homes and livelihood of the local community.
The land is owned by the school authority. The NGO - Humanitarian Foundation supports their educational activities and ongoing costs.
This would be a truly ground breaking project that would have huge benefits not only for the children but the community as a whole.
For this project we will partner with the local university for guidance and lovcal support along with Building Trust International.
Hope School, Mae Sot, Thailand.
Budget EUR 44,000
This is an existing school that supports 200+ Burmese migrant children. It is serious disrepair, unsafe and not fit for purpose for the growing number of children in attendance.
There are 2 buildings that require completely renovating from the ground up as they are falling over and no longer weatherproof. These 2 buildings form 3 classrooms, the kitchen and the offices for the school.
This is an area in which we have successfully completed many projects and have a great relationship with the community that we serve. These migrant projects are absolutely vital for these children that have been through so much.
It is located along the riverbank in bamboo glade rented from the community.
