PERU - ECO PROJECT
Accuro Eco-Project in the Sacred Valley, Peru: Progress and Achievements Report
Introduction
Our project in the Sacred Valley remains on time and on budget.
This report highlights the positive engagement from fee-paying schools, volunteer participation, and the overall shaping of the project. Moreover, we provide details on the upcoming official opening, our live-streaming initiative, and the unique features that make the center fully self-sustaining.
On Time and On Budget
We are pleased to report that our eco-project in the Sacred Valley is progressing according to plan. As of the latest assessment, we are on track to meet the anticipated timeline and financial parameters, underscoring the effective planning and execution that has been invested in this initiative.
Educational Outreach
Fee-paying schools have actively engaged with the project, recognizing its educational value. These schools are not only attending but also contributing financially to learn about the planting cycles integral to the project. Their participation not only supports the initiative but also establishes a sustainable revenue stream.
Volunteer Contributions
Volunteers from all over have travelled to the project site to lend their support. Their focus on enhancing the aesthetics of the centre has added significant value to the project, emphasising the collaborative and community-oriented nature of the program.
Project Status and Official Opening
The eco-project is taking tangible shape, and we are happy to announce that we anticipate an official opening at the end of March 2024. This marks a significant milestone in the project's journey and signals the beginning of its broader impact on the community and surrounding regions.
Live-Streaming the Opening Day
To ensure that the Accuro team has the opportunity to witness this occasion, we will be live-streaming the opening day. This initiative not only allows anyone at Accuro to virtually attend the event but also provides a platform to share the link with potential long-term supporters, expanding the project's reach and impact.
Community Excitement and Regional Interest
The local community in the Sacred Valley is eagerly anticipating the project's official opening. The enthusiasm is palpable, and it has sparked interest in other regions where communities are keen to learn and replicate similar projects.
Holistic Sustainability
An integral feature of the eco-project is its commitment to holistic sustainability. The fully self-sustaining centre not only serves to feed the children but will also supply their farm-to-table restaurant and produces surplus food for sale in local markets. All of this is achieved through pesticide-free farming, and a zero-waste policy ensures that nothing leaves the site as rubbish.
GIRLS’ EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM
The GEP continues to go from strength to strength, this year saw a huge leap forward in the girls individual endeavours.
They have been taking part in international business competitions (and winning!) and martial arts contests.
We also have one girl who built an app that helps protect girls in dangerous areas by providing live information of risks and also a way to contact when in trouble, Save The Children Nepal loves the app and is taking it onboard as part of their overall offering.
The DIDI mentoring program officially kicks off on Saturday the 13th of January with introductory emails between the girls and their mentors, we have a wide range of professionals signed on from dancers and nurses to politicians and pilots, once we are established and have learned from the experience we will look to significantly scale this to a much broader group of girls from the program and in actual fact across all Kanallan projects.

Girl Friendly Toilets
The construction and maintenance of girls-friendly toilets, along with proper pad incineration chambers in schools, have addressed a critical issue:

It demonstrates that, regardless of the challenges they face, with access to education and determination, they too can overcome adversity and achieve their dreams. The engineer's involvement in constructing the school creates a tangible connection between the past and the present, offering a sense of hope and possibility to the current generation of students.
Conclusion

The Love School not only provides education but also fosters a sense of empowerment and resilience, showing that even in the face of adversity, dreams can be realised. It stands as a testament to the transformative power of education and the potential for positive change within communities.
